STRYKE Industries Welcomes Eric Tate as Technical Student Intern for Modeling and Simulation

10 July 2015

pic2STRYKE Industries is proud to announce their newest member of the STRYKE team, Eric Tate, as a Technical Student Intern for Modeling and Simulation (M&S). “Eric will be focusing on Stryke’s M&S initiatives and supporting STRYKE’s ongoing efforts in materials selection, system design and development, M&S of advanced structures performance, and validation and verification testing of STRYKE’s prototyping efforts” stated Van Flamion, President of STRYKE Industries. Adding that, “our current growth path has necessitated the move to bring M&S and validation and verification capabilities onboard and Eric is very excited to be joining the STRYKE Team.”

Eric brings recent and relevant academic and industry experience to the STRYKE team regarding advanced M&S including computational fluid dynamics simulations and aerodynamic analysis on weapon defense systems. Prior to joining STRYKE Industries, Eric was an intern for Lockheed Martin, Missiles and Fire Control in Orlando, Florida for two successive summers in 2013 and 2014. While interning with Lockheed Martin in 2013, he conducted M&S and other aero analysis as a member of Lockheed Martin’s Aerodynamics Center of Excellence. During this internship, he became proficient in the use of Pro-E and StarCCM+ to construct aerodynamic models of the WCMD-ER wing kit to identify and analyze wing flutter. In 2014 he returned to Lockheed Martin as an intern where he led a team of fellow engineering interns through the integration of new operational software for the Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS), including the validation and verification of new software loads.

This fall Eric will enter his senior year at the University of Florida and will be graduating with Bachelor of Science degrees in both Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in 2016. STRYKE Industries is teamed with research universities and Eric acts as STRYKE’s Student Technical Liaison with the University of Florida’s Engineering Department.

STRYKE Industries is a defense business development firm and solutions provider committed to growing companies that are devoted to delivering quality products to the warfighter. Deep consideration was given to the current teammates and the warfighter when making this strategic decision for the STRYKE team as a whole…“Eric brings M&S and other engineering capabilities to the STRYKE team that will enable STRYKE to continue to grow as an advanced solutions provider to the defense industry and STRYKE’s industry partners and teammates – and I am thrilled to have him on board” stated Chris Rohe, Senior Vice President of Strategy for STRYKE Industries.
